No. No the early 2000s or so film. The idea that we live in a simulation. Well, a glitchy simulation, but alas. Having a proper, running system is not actually possible, hm?
Alright, here we go. THe plan is that humans are stuck in a simulation for, reasons which depend on the person talking about it, but usually the idea is a one to one reference to the moive. Humans are batteries. Although some branches out to include the idea that humans are kept hostage to use our brains for ram or to function hench only using a small percentage of your brain power or as free range food and so on.
One, why the flying fuck is the simulation so.... buggy? Like, it has to be common enough that normal everyday people can snap photos and videos of it but also small enough to not include, say, no-cliping or npc's t-posing or snap in or lag or... You know, what you expect from an overloaded simulation.
Personally, I believe that if you've had a real world simulation system, you'd run into consistant problems. Like you know, no-cliping. Honestly, I don't know if this is a thing others have already done, but shouldn't we have included things like the backrooms, you know? Or like rogue ai units like how Agent Smith was in the movie to explain other things like the Men In Black or Aliens. The potential is freaking ENDLESS!
Not to mention, cheats. Most computer systems have bugs of some kind inherently. I do mild coding, mostly html for work and play a lot of games, so trust me here. But if reality was a simulation, why souldn't someone figure out glitches and bugs to exploit? Like, you know how speedrunning use no-clips or out-of-bounds glitches to get better time. Or how bits can be read in an odd manner by computers. An example is one of the Civiliation games where Gandi was programmed to become friendlier ever in game year, the problems was when Gandi reached max friendliness he's code would misread into the opposite direction and he'd 180 into a dictator who wanted to nuke players and other npc countries. So... Wouldn't that happen to the matrix?
If glitches like that happened in the simulation, how does that work? Can someone just walk into a very specific wall and just out-of-bounds into a bank? Steal money that way? Or walk one step left, one step right, one step foward, one step back, crouch and jump and than get a health boast?
So, I feel like it would've worked better if it was made less as a meme and the people which did believe it spread it further to other elements such as other theories and such. I just thing that it would be better with a little more thought.
I doubt that there's any real information in the "truth" of the Matrix. Which is to say, I have seen no trustworthy information about this. Only, at best, circumstantial evidence that can be rationalised as something else, like persepctive of the camera, shutter rate, just how things are. So, I am afriad I'm not a true believer here, dear reader. I am afraid even I have moments of, I shudder to say this, conformity.
I ain't a political person. But, I do find it funny that the Man'osphere or whatever, kinda also use the Matrix idea. Just, way less cool. Like, don't get me wrong, good for them. But I doubt that getting ripped and laid would fix a simulation. Although, I assume it is some sort metophor, but I'm too bimbo to get it fully. Joking, but It really makes talking about the theory funny, 'cause like, am I talking about the movie, the self-help concept or the conspiracy?
