While most TSADF operatives are stationed in sercure TSADF locations, it is likely that you will be required to interact with the public, both hostile and not. As a result, it is vitial to ensure that these interactions go as smoothly as possible both to preserve civilian and TSADF life and to maintain the continuted positive public relations.
To assist we have created the following acronym: S.C.R.A.M
Ensure that all TSADF operatives and operations are sercure and easily defensible in case of attack.
Ensure all threats, weapons or other illegal substiences is contained and out of public reach or access. Both for operative and public saftey.
Record or otherwise document all interactions with public forces. Evidence will be of great importance incase of escalation.
Once signs of a threat has be established; apprehend the threat and detain them until further notice.
Ensure the saftey of all involved parties. We are here first and foremost to preserve life.
Once your squad arrives at an location, immediately scan the area for potential ambush sites, hazards, civilians at threat, hostiles and allies. Once these have been found, divide the squad to cover the highest threat areas and provide eachother protection.
Civilians are likely to be curious, however curioustiy can potientially lead to the harm of either the civilian or TSADF operatives and allied forces. Immediately contain, as much as possible, any and all potentially dangerous or illegal items, persons, locations or information.
While, we often work along side law enforcement and local military, they are always on a need to know basis. If any information will be hazardous for our allies to know, only share it in the case of a lack of transparency causing greater risks.
Record all steps of this process. Especially in the case of signs of potential escalation. Records will be kept of all incidents. If there is not records made, it will be difficult to charge both TSADF operatives of misconduct and civilians of crimes commited. Remember, a failure to record and report is considered treason.
If a situation escalates to the possiblity of harm, apprehand the other party as a dentainee. Actions such lunging at, verbally threatening, attempting to grab, attempting to hit, drawing a weapon, ignoring clear and reasonable instructions can be signs of a situation escalating.
Manage all immediate needs of your squad, allied units, civilians and detainees. We are here to save lives not harm them. Requests like life saving care, medical care, assistance, water, food and immediate protection are vitial and important to at least consider for complience.
While, TSADF is dedicated to the preservation and protection of all life, we must maintain a certain level of cognito management. Remember, all individuals are allowed to request information but not all information is safe to provide to them.
Civilians and allied units are on a strictly need to know basis. Information about the following is not considered vitial to operations and as a result should be treated as only important to reveal in a lack of alternatives:
- TSADF base locations
- TASDF spec unit information
- TASDF's current relationship with SSBU/SSU units
- TSADF's detainee sites
- TSADF operation orders
Furthermore, in the case of a non-TSADF allied individual requesting information, it is always better to direct them to the proper departments. It is not part of your job describtion to determine who deserves what information.
Thanks to the implamentation of the When in Rome Laws, all TSADF operatives are expected to operatate under the country they find themselves in's legal system. Most squads will, as a result, be issued an ambassador in order to smoothly operate within the "host" countries borders.
These rules are permitted to be broken if it serves the greater good of the TSADF. However, such actions will have to be justified to a TSADF court. If it is revealed that these rules where broken without sufficent justification, you will be charged with treason.
The following is examples of justification that might allow for a disregarding of the When in Rome Laws:
- An immediate threat to either TSADF operatives, Allied operatives, SSU, SSBU, Non-TSADF allied supernaturals or civilain populations.
- To preserve clandistain operation within the "host" country
- To maintain control over a TSADF base within the "host" country
- Under direct Higher Management, in which the burden of responsibility falls onto Upper Management.
It is highly likely that you'd end up having to defend yourself in a public court of a "host" country. But do not worry. Unless you broke a local law, or a TSADF law, it would just be a formality.
The first thing to do is remember L.P.C.W
The TSADF will provide lawyers to you in the case of a lawful trial. If these lawyers are not available, you will have to seek a local law firm for legal representation.
Provide all legal evidence to the court. Remember, cognito-hazardous information is illegal and prohibited under all situations. This is also why it is vitial to documment all incidents.
Comply will all reasonable and lawful requests. Do not give some unallied non-TSADF individual and excuse to throw the full weight of the law at you.
Win.
Most cases handled in this manner mange to pass quickly and harmlessly through the legal system.
Of course even TSADF operatives deserve time off. However just because you are not in uniform does not mean you are no longs a TSADF operative. You will be expected to comply with a few minor rules during off-time:
- Sercurely contain and store all hazardous or dangerous tools, evidence weapons or such other implements in either you own dwelling or an TSADF base armoury, evidence locker or storage unit.
- Avoid all talk of cognito-hazards unless with a psych-unit or with properly cleared individuals.
- Listen out for potenital calls you might be able to assist with.
- If time-off is longer than a month, keep up to-date with all training required for your role in the squad and that you are reasonably able to due.
- Maintain contact with your squad leader in case anything is needed of you.
- Recover from any injuries, emotional distress or pyschological distress caused during your job.
Above all else, it is vitial to remember to maintain an operable level of health and capiblity. If it would be benefitial for you to rest during off-time, rather rest. A tired, wounded or otherwise comprimised TSADF operative is only a liablity.
It is vitial to first remember that panic is a unproductive responsie. Your first step should always be calming down, attempting contact and if all else fails than rememer C.A.L.M
At moments like this, your wit and mind are your strongest assest. As a result your first, and consistant focus should be maintaining a calm and clear head.
Appraise your situation. Is there any landmarks nearby? Any signs of towns, or civilisation? What gear do you have on you? Would it be safe to move? Are you injuried? Are you alone?
If possible move to safer locations. Find civilians, allied forces or signs of TSADF forces. Try to find optimal exfile locations.
Keep an eye on your gear. Manage resources to last as long as they can. One bullet could make the difference. One MRE could make the difference you need.
If you, however, find yourself in a location yet unknown to us. It is important to immeditately begin making records of your surroundings. Knowledge very well might save your life. Attempt to determine how you arrived at this location and if travel out of it is possible. If not, focus your energies on making and maintaining a safe area to survive until either help can arrive or resources can be sent through to you.
