I don't know if you lads and lassies know 'bout this, but Fenny here is a huge fan of some old school games. Not all of them, I am a shitty gamer, but god damn it! I love Zoo Tycoon 2. I do love tycoon games, and Zoo Tycoon 2 is up there with my most favourites. It's fantastic!
Look, most cosy games end up boring me, but tycoon games just grab me by the freaking guts and tug me into it. I love micromanging it and trying to build the best fucking zoo possible. I mean, building up enclosures with the right biome and making sure there's food and entertainment for the animals, giving the human guests food and restrooms and stuff to chill out with. I love Zoo Tycoon 2.
I remember when I booted it on for the first time. I was a younger wolf, my bro, Jörmungandr, started it up and well. Look I was half reading the manual, it was back when we had those lovely little booklets, and I remember trying to tell Jörmungandr that he should use proper chainlink fences to make the lion enclosure but noo. Jörmungandr used some small rope and post fences and the lions got out, mauled some guests and it was a panic. Also, fun fact about Zoo Tycoon 2, humans can be mauled to death by animals, which thus leaves behind a carcass, that can be placed back into an animals enclosure and refulled. Yeah, the "food bowl" will also have the name of the person who got mauled.
Any ways, moving on. I quite enjoy Zoo Tycoon 2. It's fun, a bit slow paced and somewhat micromanaging, but it's a fun ass game. I quite enjoy making safari's with it. You know? Make a large area with all manner of animals from one biome, provide them with entertainment and food, in order to limit hunting, and than let the humans see the animals in their actual environment. Bonus points if you have the Africa something dlc which let's you have jeeps and make tracks for them to drive through the park.
And dudes, when I say the dinosuar dlc is better than Jurrasic world. I mean it. At least for me. I much prefer giving the dinos and perhistoric critters a nice safe and enriching zoo than whatever I ended up failing at in Jurrisic Park Operations or whatever. Which is likely my fault. I did skip the turtorial, I am stupid. But yeah.
Oh, and the sandbox mode is literally my fucking childhood, (puphood?). Like dude, no shit spent all two hours of my allocated computer time making a full on zoo. Spent almost my entire birthday one time just playing Zoo Tycoon 2. Granted I was chugging coolers and a little tipsy at the time, but my point stands! Also apparetnly from the two separate times I've been drunk, I just go play video games.
