Superheroes:

You know what's intersting? How do superpowers alter a person. Like, think about it this way, there is a saying "if you want to see a person true self, give them power". And what is more taginable as power than superpowers or the supernatural?

A fun aspect of superman is that he is a functional god amongst men. He is supernaturally strong, fast, perceptive, invunrable and dangerous. Which is interesting. Mostly as Superman, or Clark Kent, tends to be quite the upstanding person. He wants what's best for humans, or as much as he can to help.

But I doubt all people would have that level of morality. Powers do not require morality. Most people tend to be realitively good, but that doesn't mean that everyone is, or that they well respond perfectly to stress that might come with powers.

Explain, Fen...

Have a little faith in me, Dear Reader. Look, I'm going to use superman's superpowers as an example. Let's start simply. Imagine being so strong you can lift buildings. Cool, right? Except, you're going to need to be able manage your strength all the time. Imagine if everything you've picked up was as delicate as an egg, all the time.

Or what about sensory issues. I will not claim to know everything about sensory issues, but loud sounds more or less cripple me. I can't imagine how horrible it would be if you can hear people halfway across the city. Cities and crowds are already loud, having hyper-senstive hearing would be horrible.

Buy in large, it's horrible to be a god. And since most superheroes have a secret idenity, it makes it difficult for them to express the sucky parts of the powers. Plus, even if they could, there is no real safe way to explain how bad your powers are when well... Supervillains are also a thing and might use that against you.

I think it's just interesting to over think the logical aspect of how super-powers could effect people. While super-powers are awesome, having them would probably come with some not so fun side effects which is rather interesting.

Come on, it's just existential dread sitting right freaking there. Ugh, I just feel like most stories which have things outside of normal human operations (things like fantasy creatures or superheroes) should be outside of human normalacy. You can't be supernaturally strong and not be effected by it in the day to day. Hell, even abnormally tall people have to struggle with the surrounding world not build around them. It would carry over to the normal lives of the heroes or it would be an overarching effect of how they view reality.

Of course, this carries over to the villians but well.. Most villains tend to be rather varied about the sheer reasoning or belief systems varities they have. Honestly, I would go on about it later, you know? Way too much energy is required for that.
