So, you know that odd little inbetween spot some games sit? Like, it's too polished to just be a first attempt, but clearly not big enough to an a triple a or like "everyday play" game. That's where Little Kitty Big City sits.
I won't say it's a bad game. It's a good game. A freaking adorable game. So, you play as a cute little cat that somehow fell out of his owners apartment and you main quest is to climb all the way back up. There's also a few side quests, like reuniting a duck family or trying catch a bird in a play pretend game.
The main gameplay loop is just, be a cat. Run, look around, grab stuff, eat stuff, climb building, repeat. It's kinda fun to run about and just try stuff. Although I do feel like once you've done everything there'd be no replay value, which is fine. Skyrim is the same honestly. One full playthrough is usually enough.
Now, I can't recommend it entirely, I didn't pay for my copy, so I don't know how expensive it is. So, just note I'm not reviewing it entirely fairly as well, I didn't pay for it. Yarr.
I'd say the game's biggest advantage is also it's biggest flaw. It's a fun game that is more or less "fluff" or "cosy" and if you're looking for a game like that, it's perfect. Just don't expect much deeper from it. It's like eating cotten candy. It's fantastic, but not really going to give you much more than a sugar rush.
I will say that they did give us collectiable hats to pad out post game but uh... I mean, unless you enjoy dressing up digitial cats in super super cute hats to make hyper cuteness, I doubt you'd actually go out and do that bit at the end. I also would like to say, I haven't found a photo mode, which is likely why I gave up on collecting hats, as I can't just, snap a photo of the cat afterwards.
But yeah. That's like two, very small problems for a rather fun and cosy game otherwise. I mean, I didn't pay for it, so I don't know if it gives you the bang for you buck at the end, but from what I can tell. It's not bad.
