Kemonomimi's are a damn cute little thing. It's essentially the anime cat girls and boys and monster designs be damned I still love 'em. They obviously serve a different perpose than things like just flat out werewolves, but I think people look down on them too much. Not everyone, but some folks. Anyways here's a handy dandy guide to some Kemonomimi.
Nekomimi's are the stock standard kemonomimi type. It's usually just your average cat boy or cat girl, complete with cat ears, a cat tail and a mix of cuteness and tsundere-like behaviour. Honestly, I quite like Nekomimi's, but then again I am a cat person. Literally, in the case of my persona being a nekomimi creatively named Kat... P.s not to be confused with my user tag which is still Fenrir, don't. Don't ask.
If there's cats, someone would rather have a dog, and that's more or less Inumimi's. Inumimi's are dog boys and dog girls, complete with dog ears, a dog tail and a more "puppy-dog" personality. I don't know why but I always imagine them as slightly yandere. Just enough to be more than willing to put someone in the ER for hurting their human. Now, Inumimi's aren't as common as some other types but they aren't impossibly rare. I kinda like them.
From dogs to wolves we get Okamimimi's. Not only do they have the most fun name to type, they are also one of the cooler ones. Okamimimi's are flat out wolf boys and girls, complete with wolf ears, a wolf tail, sometimes more prominent fangs and my full and undivided attention. I will be honest and say that I haven't seen all that many Okamimimi in the wilds of manga or anime, but I do know they tend to be a bit more feral. They are a bit difficult to seperate from werewolves, but, you know.
Kitsunemimi's are fox boys and girls, complete with fox ears, one to nine fox tails and a troublemaker streak. Now, Kitsunemimi's can also just be Kitsune, or Japanese Fox Spirits, but I've honestly encountered them more often as the magically inclined villain enough to make that be my first thought. I do like kitsunemimi's, especially since foxes are really cool.
Haienamimi's are hyena boys and girls and I'll be real with you, I've only seen one once. These elusive Kemonomimi types are quite fun, since hyena's have some trippy biology in play. Like the female hyena's rather male looking biology, or the dominate female or the strong pecking order. Just fun things to throw out for a Haienamimi charactor. Or don't, I'm not your dad or mom.
Raionmimi's are lion girls and boys. Think Botan. They are also quite interesting since lions usually have a sterotype of being strong leaders, noble and royality. Although I think that's inccorect, and that title should belong to normal cats, since they are way more demanding and picky than lions. I'm totes not biased, by the way /s. Now back to raionmimi's, the are also big cats, which means way stronger and faster thanks to having to be a predator.
You know what's cuter than a bunny? A bunny girl or boy. Now Usagimimi's are quite frankly adorable. They are usually small, meek and quite frankly, hug shaped, but I do think it is intereseting to talk about actual bunnies for a second. Like did you know, Bunnies can have heart attacks if scared. Or that bunnies are social creatures that need friends? I didn't for a bit. But again, good things to think about before adding to your story.
Butamimi's are pig boys and girls and quite frankly are weirdly adorable. I don't know why, pigs just sit inbetween being really ugly and friend shaped. Now the one show I can remember with Butamimi's, or something close to it, was Akiba Maid SensÅ, or Akiba Maid War. Now the girls in it weren't really Butamimi's but rather dressed up as them, but hey. None of these Kemonomimi's are real and we are likely to die sad and alone.
Nezumimi's are cute little mouse boys or mouse girls, complete with those big round ears and tail. Now, I haven't really seen any offical anime or manga with Nezumimi's, but I do live under a rock. Either way, these guys are adorable without measure. Love 'em.
