Sooo... Fallout lore?:

First a disclaimer. I am not an excpert on fallout lore, but I have played Fallout New Vegas multiple times. I mean, I've got every ending but Legion at this point, including three separte Wild Card endings with different choices. I am currently working on getting the Legion ending because, duh.

For the ease of writting, Fallout New Vegas will be shortened to F:NV and the tv show would be F:TS for Fallout: TV Show.

1.1 - Deathclaws:

First of all, the Deathclaws which are shown in the tv show are Fallout 4's design of the deathclaws. Which is wildly different from the actual F:NV Deathclaws. Namely, colouration and horn shape. I.E F:NV Deathclaws tend to be more deaserty than the Fallout 4 design of more coastal ones.

Look, I don't know if I hate or like the new design. It fits great for Fallout 4, but in the Mojave? Doesn't work, in my opinion. It's way too aquaitic for a giant desert and it doesn't fit as well. Besides, wouldn't it have been better nostalgia bait if they looked like F:NV Deathclaws?

1.2 - Deathclaws:

How did the Deathclaws end up in The Strip? I would really like to know because this is a very confusing question to me.

I have heard two theories. Both... Riddled with holes. They came from The Thorn, or they came from Quarry Junction. And...

The Throne is a shit answer because The Thorne is very far away from The Strip. Not only is it outside of the closet factoin area, Freeside, it is also blocked of by being underground. You know? In a sewer system below Vegas that can't be used to get to The Strip.

And Qurry Junction has way more logical hunting ground for the Deathclaws way closer instead of them somehow wandering into The Strip without effecting the Freeside Area. Which is... Less logical than The Thron being the starting zone.

2.1 - Freeside:

Look, I love Freeside. I've always done them right so far in every playthrough to the point where I headcannon one of my run's ending with my character handing The Strip over to the King. So, allow me to be real mean.

What is F:TS's Freeside? Freeside is part slums, part refugee camp, part gang operated city and part trade hub. In the games at least. I mean in the game, you have Mick and Ralphs, The Fort, The Atomic Wrangler, Silver Rush, The Kings. Hell, you could set a whole tv show just in Freeside alone. But we don't hang there much. Actually-

3 - Locations in general:

Maybe, I'm an idiot. Actuall, it's known I am one. But F:NV has very fun locations. Not every location, but every major settlement is facinating. Take The Strip. It's surround immediatly by Freeside, is close to the North Vegas Square, is close to Camp MaCarran, It is supplied by the NCR Sharecroppers farms. It has multiple micro factions such as The Kings, The Followers of the Appocolpse, NCR, Omertas, The White Glove Sociaty and The Chairmen.

And while The Strip is way more loaded with stuff as it is the centeral most location, this is not a trait held only by The Strip. As even most faction holdout locations has some named NPCs most of which will either give you a quest or some lore on what's going on in the world.

Speaking of factions...

4.1 - NCR:

I have done a NCR run, not my most favourite, but the faction is odd in the F:TS. Namely, they don't really exsist. First of all, Shady Sands no longer exsits, so bye-bye NCR captial and further on, the don't do... anything.

Look, from what I remember from again like five play throughs, NCr wants to "colonise" Vegas, and they functionally are halfway there. They have multiple camps, an entire freaking half of their army deplayed here, and are common enough that the locals aren't fond of them.

Plus, the NCR are somewhat based on the real world Military of the USA. Here is the thing, however. They aren't just the USA. They're very wildly off from the current world, mostly because they are made up of post-post-apocolpse survivors.

I think my challenge is that the NCR is really, not there. Like they are both just Good Guys heroes in the F:TS and just, not there at all. Very confusing. As they mostly just show up at the end to... Shoot up some Deathclaws... Which again, are in The Strip for reasons yet to be known.

4.2 - The Legion:

The Legion is usually seen as the well, "bad guy" faction. Understanably, they are made up of very very horrible people and they have a might means right lore. Which is mostly logical, but by god do they suck in the F:TS.

Look, in F:NV you can side with Legion, it is a vaild ending. And they make some level of logical explaination on why and how they function. But most importantly, they are compertent. Very compertant. They use spies, dirty bombs, rush tactics, intel. So on. It makes sense how they managed to control the grand majority of the East.

N-not, you know... Freaking frat boys who would fight over the corpse of Ceaser. Because... Legate Lainus just... doesn't exist in this world? Like, you are telling me they guy who, in front of his men, forced they men of his army that retreated to fight to the death to make a point. The man who needs 100 speech to talk down. The man who is a legond of Wastes who is known for being brutal and trying to uphold the Legion further than Ceaser himself.

I guess I wouldn't have minded as much if they did just mention that something happened. You know? Like, oh, that Legate guy? Yeah, he moved back East to strengthen the legion. Or, oh that Legate guy? He got killed in a coup. Come on, man...

4.3 - Everyone else:

There is absolutely no mention or further depiction of the following factions:

- The Followers of the Apocolpyse

- The Omertas

- The Chairmen

- The White Glove Sociaty

- The Boomers

- The Powder Gangers

- The NCR Rangers (Which are technically both apart of the NCR and not at the same time)

- The Fiends (in they're home location, btw.)

And these are the factions reduced to either just raiders or not charactorised accurately:

- The Kings

- The Great Khans

5 - Minor issues:

Why doesn't Lucy use Fixer when she's addicted? Fixer is a addiction cure. You can use it in Vegas.

Where is everyone?

What is going on with Hover Dam?

Why is there no prospectors or farmers or traders or whatever walking the roads of the Mojave?

Why is there no Cazedors? Or Gecko's? Or Bark Scorpians? Or Centuars? Or Coyotes? Or Mole rats? Or Deathclaws outside of The Strip? Or ghouls outside The Kings? Or Mantis's?

F:NV only has a handful of vaults, and yet we don't see any one of them. Including the most famous one of Vault 21.

Victor shows up, despite having literally no reason for that program to be running on any Sercuritrons.

No one uses the Vegas drugs. Like say, Turbo, Steady, Rushing Waters. I did not do a full coked up addict run to have F:TS to ignore all the drugs.

The only locations shown is The Strip, Novac, The Nuka Cola Factory and that's it. Every other location is custom for F:TS, which is... Midly sad.

The Boomers aren't mention or shown. On one hand, that means I can headcannon they got their "flying fortress" wish, but it also makes no freaking idea why no one would mention or talk about the use of getting the Nellis Air Force Base, which is home to a lot of boom.

I understand that this is DLC content, but if this is the new canon, why is none of the DLC content there? Are the DLC's no longer canon?

What is up with the lack of F:NV gear? Like, Maria or the All America. You're in Vegas, why use no vegas gear?

Where is Rex? This isn't entirely important, but where is my dog? I miss him.

Why is there no gambling or caravan or "ladies of the night" or alcohol? It's part of the allure of The Strip. A city of sin surrounded by hardhips. I mean, in terms of reality as well as the game.

Want to hear something more interesting:

What makes Vegas my favourite Fallout game? Would you like to know?

It's fun to explore the wastes as a normal wastelander. Damn near everyother Fallout game, aside from 2, makes you play as a vault dweller. Which is cool, but isn't it also cool to not have to roleplay as someone confused by the world around you?

Like, if you play as the Lone Wander or Sole Surviver, you should come across like a fish out of water. At first at least. But in F:NV you could start as a wastelander and roleplay as damn near anyone as long as you worked as a courier for a bit.

What do you even care? It's a stupid movie based on a stupid out of date game:

And? I am a stupid idiot on the internet, making a stupid blog which no Bethesda manager or employee is going to see. You've got nothing to worry about here. I mean, come on. You can like what you like. I can rag and what I want to rag. I still have the game on my laptop, so I don't entirely care what happens with the rest of the francise, but that doesn't mean I won't nerd out on where it's not working like it did in the games.

And, for you dear reader which still likes the tv show:

Sweet dude. More happy people is more happy people. There is no real loss there, now is there? Besides, I don't balme you guys for the change. The only reason Bethesda is changing things is for profit. If you guys like it, that's not because of some weird want to "screw over the old fans" you know?

In a less clumsy manner of explaination. I'm glad you guys are enjoying it, but I don't entirely like it. But again, it's the same as say, ice cream. I like mint ice cream, not everyone does. Who cares? Not me, not the ice cream factories and not those who don't like mint. We all just go home at the end of the day and have other things to worry about, you know?

I am just a creature of spite and hate. I wouldn't like something if it was very so slightly off, you know? Everything must be perfect to make me fine with it.

Go back?
