Dude, Dredge.

Dude, I love Dredge. It's such a freaking fun game. Not to mention it's honestly fun as all hell. I mean, dude, it's fun, it's beautiful and I honestly think it's my favoruite cosy game. I will say that I don't know what counts as cosy games, I'd say that most cosy games are somewhat calmer? I don't know. But I do feel like it's somewhat of a cosy game to me.

I don't know, man. It's just fun to be a chill lil' fishermen, sailing about and pulling up some interesting fish and than taking some nice photos. It's a nice life. Plus it's not like Stardew Valley where I get bored at the reptititiveness of it, like I get tired of the routine of 'wake up, water the plants, havest the goods I can, try to romance either Abigail or Elliott (fuck Elliott's marriage requirements by the way, like fucking pomegrantes? Really? The shitiest fruit?), mine, mine some more, almost die, get mad that Harvey closes shop when he is the only docter, pet my cat/kiss my wife, sleep'. But with Dredge it's like every in game day is different. I mean, hey, last time I was playing I managed to finish the lighthouse quest and than the time prior I spent most of my time cleaning up oil spills.

Not to mention, I am a huge fan of the seea monsters. It's fun to have a mild challenge that you can choose to deal with, by not sleeping or interesting with the red fog the whole time. You can even just turn it off in the settings so it can be a full fledged cosy game if you want. I must say, I quite enjoy keeping it on, mostly because it's fun to just loop around the see monsters before trying to snap a photo.

Oh, plus, I really really like the photo options. It's fun as all hell to get some neat photos 'cause by all that is holy, I fucking love the graphics. Especially the 2d art. I love the sort of oil paintery style with bold colours and sort of chunky rendering. Especially on the fish. God, the aberrational fish is soo freaking cool! I think my favourite fish are the 'All-Seeing Cod', 'Voltaic Grouper', 'Twinned Eels' and the 'Host Eel'. Although the 'Three-headed Cod' is honestly a classic.

Go back?
